Back in 1995 I was fresh out of college and spending my summer cruising around from town to town checking out the local street scene. At the time I had a beautiful good 1966 Chevelle. From the surface she looked quite stock and plain Jane, and that is how I liked it.

Chevy Chevelle’s For Sale

I tried to keep the car as low profile as possible. Unlike most people I didn’t want to put flashy Super Sport badges on my vehicle or market that there was anything other than a small block concealing under my hood. My Chevelle which i bought in Dexter ME 04930 had no flashy rims or wide meats sticking out of the back wheel wells, just the stock looking rims and a set of Mickey Thompson cheater slicks that may simply give a hint to exactly what this car was up to.
If you were to look within my 66 Chevelle you really would not believe much of it simply a clean stock looking black interior with a Hurst 4 speed and three low key gauges mounted under the dash. Under the hood of my automobile is where this vehicle really shined. Absolutely nothing fancy hiding under there simply a clean stock looking big block Chevy with painted valve covers and a stock looking air filter sporting a 325 horse power 396 cubic inch sticker. If you just happened to talk me into raising the hood for you this is where I had you. Because tucked below that stock looking air filter with the 325 horsepower sticker was a very stout 427 cubic inch big block Chevy. You can find a Chevelle Like Mine In Dexter ME 04930.
It was this low key appearance that hooked them, and after that it depended on me to reel them in. I remember my buddies and I cruised up and down numerous a main street that summer season. We would travelled my Chevelle up and down the local strips primarily simply idling her through, never ever actually revving her up or getting on it. Simply a low key Chevelle attempting not to accentuate ourselves so that we could set our trap.
Many a guy stepped into the trap that we set that summer, always thinking that they were taking on a mainly stock car. Kid were they incorrect. I did not win every race that summer, but by the time fall rolled around my little low key 66 Chevelle had quite a name for itself and gained the respect that it deserved.

During the 1960s and in the early 1970s, there was a large amount of variety for each design year of the Chevelle for sale available to consumers.
